@Blackgise A great message is not enough. The story is not developed. During the almost entire movie we have almost zero action.
“Oh, a second Earth. There is my copy out there………..oh, a second Earth. There is my copy out there………(repeat for more than one hour)”

Regarding the budget, it would cost nothing to put variations of the Blue Marble. Yet they insisted on one, and they’ve picked the most famous one, making painfully obvious it’s a flat image pasted on the sky.

@endimion17 you right the movie didn’t presented a high and advance special effect and CGI but 2 things, firstly this movie is rather than Sci-fic is drama and it has another message, secondly the budget of movie was just 200 k and I don’t thing it’s easy to make a film with high standard with this amount of money but they sort of did it…

  3. endimion17 says:

@Gum3rdm No, this has nothing to do with that idea. This is something different.

@MrsLollyphunk You forgot to take your pills again.

@Blackgise I wouldn’t say that it really engages with its audiences. It’s a movie that could’ve been truly great if it wasn’t so dilluted and slow.

Additionally, while I usually loathe ridiculous CGI, I’m mad because they used only one Blue Marble image for the Earth. All they did was making it a crescent and rotating it in one plane. Apollo astronauts took several photos of the Earth spinning while being almost fully lit and it would’ve been a nice touch if they used more than one.

Pretty much every aspect of the idea around this movie is great (except the bogus physics behind it, but even I, won’t do it this time), but there’s so little of it.
I was certainly not asking for a lame Holywood movie. I wanted something like this… but this is just so poor. Not lame poor. Just “not rich” poor. The story should’ve and could’ve been way more developed. I’ve seen movies with less action that are more interesting to watch. It would be a truly great film if it wasn’t so weak.

  17. Blackgise says:

not to mention that this movie budget was 200 K and with this low amount they made something that really engages with its audiences and it is just one exam of brilliant independent people who really make art.

This movie is so emotionally powerful. She seeks forgiveness and can’t get it so she must finally come to peace with herself. Most of the time we seek to forgive others, but to be forgiven and to move on with life is often much more difficult. She has suffered greatly and has more than served her time in the pain that she has caused – the pain that she feels is so great that she can barely live. If you’re looking for mindblowing Sci-Fi, look elswhere. This is much more than that.
